We're on a mission to create a better online shopping experience—and we’re looking for a motivated Web Developer Intern to join us on that journey.Role DescriptionThis is an on-site internship position located in Adabraka, Accra. As a Web Developer Intern at Shopwice, you’ll assist in both front-end and back-end development, including:
  • Creating and maintaining web pages
  • Designing user interfaces
  • Writing, testing, and debugging code
  • Collaborating with the team on various web projects
You’ll gain practical experience working on a live WooCommerce-based e-commerce platform while contributing to real business impact.[ad]Responsibilites
  • Maintain and improve our WooCommerce-based website
  • Customize WordPress themes and plugins for enhanced performance and design
  • Optimize product and category pages for speed and mobile responsiveness
  • Assist with API integrations, checkout enhancements, and bug fixes
  • Work with team members to develop and launch new features
Qualification
  • Basic experience with WordPress/WooCommerce
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and basic PHP
  • Experience using Git and platforms like GitHub
  • Bonus: Familiarity with Elementor, Gutenberg Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), and WooCommerce API
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems creatively
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team
  • Skills in Front-End Development, Web Design, and general Web Development
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
