
Deputy Chief of Party- Programs (DCOPP) by Chemonics

- Supervises Sub-Purpose directors and sub-regional coordinators to ensure technical harmonization among program implementation units
- Supervises and ensures the performance of a team of Chemonics and partner staff dedicated to the program; is responsible for coordinating all activities and providing technical assistance and capacity building support to program staff, grantees, and stakeholders, including those located in focus countries
- Develops and fosters relationships with diverse local counterparts, including government representatives, civil society organizations, donors, and donor-funded implementers
- Provides the chief of party with technical expertise in institutional capacity strengthening, P/CVE, peacebuilding, social cohesion, and the USAID activity cycle to ensure that activities support program theories and assumptions; assists in identifying program opportunities and potential local partners
- Works closely with the MEL director and other program staff to devise program learning goals and objectives; ensures program learning is integrated back into the program cycle
- Oversees technical delivery of program implementation units; ensures interventions align with and deliver on the activity's technical objectives with adequate technical assistance; supervises program staff in carrying out a range of technical assistance activities
- At least eight years of professional program design and management experience in West Africa - with respect to peacebuilding, stability, democracy support, and/or social cohesion - is required
- At least one year of prior supervisory experience, of remote or dispersed teams across regional or national borders
- Proven leadership and experience implementing and providing technical assistance to civil society strengthening, peacebuilding, youth engagement, community resilience, and/or P/CVE programs
- Demonstrated ability to build cohesive, inclusive teams that reflect community diversity and where team members can bring their whole selves to work
- Demonstrated track record of progressively responsible managerial experience implementing USAID and/or donor-funded programs with multiple activities and sub-awards; experience with remote management is preferred
- Previous experience using data tools and technology for program design, reporting, and monitoring and evaluation
- Exceptional social acumen and an ability to forge strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders - including district/county government officials and representatives from NGOs, CSOs, the private sector, and donor institutions - is required
- Demonstrated knowledge of grants administration is required
- Familiarity with issues around CVE in West Africa is highly desirable
- Fluency in speaking, reading, and writing in English and French is required; proficiency in regional languages and Arabic is desirable but not required
