- Ensure relevant Safety, Mining and other statutory Codes and Regulations remain in full compliance, ensures safety at each workplace.
- Practice and promote company environmental, health, safety and operational policies and procedures
- Actively participate in AGCL Continuous Improvement program.
- Report all accidents, unsafe positions, defected equipment, and safety complains from his department to HSE representative
- Commitment to investigate, represent, and provide technical reports for any incidents Participate in Root Cause Analysis of failures when required
- Meet maintenance and production objectives by ensuring all maintenance and installation work are carried out to standards
- Work with the latest radio communications technologies.
- Repair, install, support, configure & commission radio communications equipment
- Program and configure radios (Motorola, Tait, Icom, GME, Tetra etc.)
- Install and perform fault finding on radio, GPS, and GSM equipment.
- Perform installations into Light Vehicles and Underground Mining equipment
- Perform repeater site checks, service, maintain and provide reporting.
- Installation of antennae systems.
- Assist riggers with tower work where required.
- Install and configure microwave radio infrastructure – PTP links, RAD, Motorola etc.
- Install and deploy repeaters
- Maintenance of wireless networks
- Complete communication infrastructure maintenance or installation task as required by U/G Electrical Supervisor
- Commission or assist with commissioning and start-up of new installations
- Pull in and Gland, Test and Terminations of Power and Fibre Optic Cables
- Other duties as reasonably assigned
- Minimum of HND in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience in surface and underground communication networks, experience.
- Experience in maintaining underground radio and telephone systems.
- Must have Knowledge and experience in RFID technologies.
- Minimum of 5 years in mining maintenance field.
- Has the skill of quality job execution, and able to plan jobs in coordination with colleagues, other Departments
- Well-developed English oral, written communications and report writing skills.
- MSHA training.
- Valid Ghanaian Driver’s License with good and defensive driving skills.
