This role is focused on ensuring the physical and operational security of our projects, including support for regional development initiatives, in a setting that requires effective risk management and prompt, professional responses to any potential threats.[ad]Main Responsibilities
  • Manage physical security: Organize and oversee on-the-ground security for team members, ensuring safe transit and secure operations within the country.
  • Supervise security personnel: Lead and manage local security staff, including armed drivers and escorts, to maintain a secure environment for operations.
  • Conduct risk assessments: Execute thorough initial and ongoing risk evaluations in project areas to anticipate and manage potential threats.
  • Apply security protocols: Enforce security protocols, such as Fisher standards, adapting the level of security (high or low profile) based on assessed risks.
  • Coordination with PMO: Collaborate closely with the ACK3 Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure that all activities comply with security protocols and meet key performance indicators (KPIs). Our 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) in Europe provides centralized operational support and coordination.
  • Field Intelligence (HuMInt): Gather and analyze intelligence from the field to adjust and strengthen security measures in real time.
  • Reporting and documentation: Prepare detailed reports on security operations, incidents, and preventive measures, maintaining open communication with the management team.
Requirements
  • Experience in physical security and security team management in high- or moderate-risk areas, preferably in West Africa.
  • Security certifications: Formal training in security and protection (international certifications are advantageous).
  • Risk analysis skills: Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and applying security protocols.
  • Proficiency in field Intelligence (HuMInt): Skilled in gathering and utilizing human intelligence within security frameworks.
  • Effective communication skills: Proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate clearly in cross-cultural environments.
  • Flexibility and adaptability: Willingness to travel and adjust to changing operational needs.
