- The Director is the Head of the DICTS and reports to the Vice-Chancellor through the Registrar for overseeing the viable functioning of the DICTs within the University.
- Developing policies, programmes and schedules that include privacy and security for academic and administrative information processing and computer services to meet goals and objectives of the University
- Developing, direct and manage all computing and IT strategic plans of the University
- Providing leadership for the development of a progressive IT environment within the University and all satellite campuses
- Overseeing the development of the University’s IT investment, advise senior management on strategic systems conversions and integration in support of institutional goals and objectives
- Overseeing the design and facilitating the integration of sound IT architecture, technology standards and best practices in the University
- Ensuring the identification and installation of appropriate and progressive IT infrastructure that can support administration (e.g, network application software, storage system, IT Security, Server platforms, communication lines, equipment etc) and
- Interacting with University Management on implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software as far as the capture, storage, processing and communication line are concerned
- Possess any of the following: MBA/M.Sc/PHil in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Computer Telecommunications/Management Information Systems etc
- Be a member in good standing of a relevant and recognised professional body
- Have served as Deputy Director in a University and
- Have at least 10 years post-qualification working experience as a Senior Member
