- Reports To: Workshop Manager
- Inspect vehicles for dents, scratches, rust, or imperfections before painting.
- Sand, mask, and prime vehicle surfaces to ensure a smooth base for painting.
- Mix and match paint colors to the original manufacturer specifications or customer requirements.
- Operate spray-painting equipment (HVLP spray guns, compressors, and booths) to apply primers, base coats, and clear coats.
- Apply paint in accordance with manufacturer guidelines to ensure even coverage and finish.
- Perform final buffing, polishing, and detailing to achieve a flawless showroom finish.
- Maintain spray guns, mixing equipment, and spray booths in clean and functional condition.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations regarding the handling of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), thinners, and hardeners.
- Ensure proper ventilation and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Monitor paint and consumable stock levels (thinners, hardeners, sandpaper, masking tape) and report low inventory to the supervisor.
- Minimize wastage of paint materials.
- Minimum of WASSCE / SSCE certificate. A Trade Test Certificate (NVTI) in Auto Painting or Bodywork is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of practical experience in automotive spray painting, preferably in an assembly plant, authorized dealership, or high-volume workshop.
- Proficiency in using modern spray-painting equipment and booths.
- Basic knowledge of body filler application and panel beating is an advantage.
