Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Agri-Commodity TraderREPORTING TO: Head of OperationsLOCATION: Accra, but will be required to travel to areas of operations in GhanaEmployment Type: Full-timeJob SummaryThe Agri-Commodity Trader will be responsible for driving the sales of agricultural commodities i.e., cereal grains, oil seeds, legumes and cocoa amongst others, developing new markets and products opportunities, building strong relationships with clients in the agricultural sector to sustain the company's growth aspirations.Key Responsibilities1. Plan, develop and execute yearly strategic sales plan.2. Pro-actively prospect, manage existing businesses, pursue and grow emerging business opportunities by gathering and updating competitor intelligence, insights and trends for agricultural commodities.3. Evaluate market conditions to maintain inventory levels and control cost.4. Support prices analysis, send out key market information, analysis and updates to management (import and export line-ups for key origins) and formulate effective sales strategy with supporting price models.5. Monitor sales performance, track sales targets, and report on sales activities and market insights to management.6. Perform physical trade operations with a focus on origination of cereal grains, oilseeds (focus on soybeans) and cotton for both domestic and export flows.7. Assist to identify, execute and optimize PnL on cash trading opportunities locally, regionally and internationally.8. Ensure trade to cash process is implemented (validation of contracts, exchanges of futures, FX hedge for sales, collection of funds, collection of cargo in case of prepayment)9. Follow execution of the program, assist in solving daily issues (interface with execution, freight team, and destination teams)10. Collaborate with the production and logistics team to ensure a reliable and competitive supply of commodities to meet customer demands.11. Manage clients / projects receivables and cash collections in light of preset sales KPI.12. Prepare and present sales proposals, contracts, and agreements to clients, negotiating terms and conditions to secure profitable deals.13. Identify and recommend operational improvements to enhance quality of products and customer satisfaction.14. Work closely with marketing team to design required promotion and awareness campaigns for target market / clients15. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing customer inquiries, resolving issues, and maintaining customer satisfaction.16. Stay updated on industry regulations, market dynamics, and technological advancements relevant to Agri-commodity sales.This job description is subject to potential modification in response to strategic shifts within the organization. As the company evolves, duties and responsibilities outlined herein may be adjusted to align with the changing needs and goals.CompetenciesEducation & Experience· An MBA degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Science, Marketing, or related field.· A minimum of 7 years' proven experience in Agri-commodity trading particularly in locally produced cereal grains, oil seeds, legumes and cocoa amongst others.· Strong knowledge of agricultural commodities, market access and trends, pricing mechanisms, and supply chain dynamics.· Well conversant about trading, RFQ, strategic sourcing and procurement best practices· Possess a valid driver's license B and clean driving record· Proficiency in ERP, Microsoft Office and CRM software for sales tracking and reporting.Essential Skills and Personality Attributes· Leadership· Results-driven· Problem-solving and relationship building skills· Analytical, at ease with numbers and negotiation skills.· Communication, collaboration and interpersonal abilities.· Possess passion, integrity and strong work ethicsMust be open and willing to learn
