- Preparing periodic financial statements, including budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
- Prepare statutory and management accounts.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
- Manage capital expenditure
- Review accounting processes and practices and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
- Provide variances analysis from budget, identify added-value reporting opportunities for trend analysis and commentary to assist forecasting and budgeting requirements
- Controlling and forecasting income and expenditure
- Maintaining records and reconciliation controls of approved budgets
- Year-end income and expenditure forecasts
- Providing a support service by working with all departments and the management team to help make financial decisions
- Ensuring spending is kept in line with the budget
- Analysing financial performance and so contributing to medium and long-term business planning/forecasts
- Offering professional judgment on financial matters and advising on ways of improving business performance
- Interpreting and communicating financial data to non-financial managers
- Liaising with other function managers to put the finances and accounts in context
- Monitoring and evaluating financial information systems and suggesting improvements where needed
- Implementing corporate governance procedures, risk management and internal controls
- Responsible for dealing with Treasury management and day to day cash management
- Assist with the audit preparation work to allow for timely completion of the annual financial statements and corporation tax returns
- Advanced degree in Accounting plus a professional qualification in Accounting
- Proven working experience in a supervisory role
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Excellent accounting software user
- Strong understanding of Accounting software
- Excellent administration skills
- Excellent analytical and numerical abilities
- Accuracy and an eye for detail
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
- Ability to act with integrity
- Excellent Negotiating and communication Skills
