Research Study Coordinator in Ghana

- Coordinate the day-to-day operations of assigned research studies including scheduling, data collection, and logistics.
- Liaise with investigators, research staff, vendors, and study participants to support study implementation.
- Ensure all research activities adhere to approved protocols and Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of IRB documents and protocol amendments.
- Oversee informed consent processes and ensure participant confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Collect, manage, and perform basic analysis of study data using approved tools and software.
- Assist in preparing study materials including questionnaires, SOPs, training guides, and recruitment documents.
- Draft and edit technical documentation such as abstracts, study reports, and manuscripts.
- Provide regular updates and briefings to project leads and other stakeholders.
- Support community engagement and assist in training field staff, where required.
- Conduct quality checks of collected data and troubleshoot operational issues during data collection.
- Prepare and deliver presentations on research findings to stakeholders or collaborating institutions.
- Basic knowledge of epidemiology, infectious disease research, and study coordination.
- Knowledge of basic disease etiologies and preventive strategies.
- Knowledge of IRB protocol procedures.
- Knowledge of survey methods and basic statistics used to collect and interpret data.
- Skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, graphic, email, and database software.
- Skilled in writing memorandums, correspondence, abstracts, articles, and proposals.
- Ability to plan and prioritize work.
- Ability to coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment in the resolution of problems.
- Ability to make presentation to groups.
- Ability to be a self-starter and work independently.
- Ability to interface with investigators, vendors, research staff, and study participants.
- Master’s degree in Public Health, biology or related field. An advanced degree is preferred, but not required.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
- Travel Requirements: Travel may include Djibouti, Jordan, Nigeria, and other countries in Africa and the Middle East, depending on research requirements.
- Must be a US citizen.
