- Initiates actions for the formulation of policies of the College.
- Ensures the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the programmes and activities of the College.
- Exercises oversight responsibility for the efficient and effective management of the human, material and financial resources of the College.
- Represents the College on related international bodies.
- Ensures the availability of appropriate internal structures, controls, management and decision-making systems and processes of the College.
- Leads in mobilization of Funds for the College.
- Undertakes academic ceremonial duties.
- Serves as the secretary to the Governing Council and the Academic Board.
- Ensures the development of programmes to meet special needs of Fellows, Members, Residents and the Health Sector.
- Signs and seals contractual agreements between individuals, groups of persons, organizations and the College.
- Collaborates and builds relationship with Government, public and private sector partners and other stakeholders in carrying out the mandate of the College.
- Ensures compliance with College Regulations.
- Ensures the implementation of audit recommendations.
- Ensures the preparation of the annual and other periodic reports of the College.
- Ensures the preparation of the budget and work plan of the College.
- Ensures the implementation of the Performance management system within the College.
- Must be a distinguished Nursing or Midwifery practitioner/scholar.
- A PhD holder and a Fellow of GCNM in good standing.
- A minimum of ten (10) years' experience in senior management position involving tertiary education, scientific and research institution.
- Must pass a selection interview conducted by the Governing Council.
- Knowledge of the Specialist Health Training.
- General knowledge of Health policies and operating procedures.
- Good leadership and Strategic management skills.
- Good knowledge and understanding of Public Administration System.
- Knowledge of administrative practices and procedures.
- Good knowledge in financial management and labour laws and regulations.
- Good business sense.
- High integrity, professionalism and good ethical standard.
- Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Negotiating, networking, lobbying and advocacy skills.
- Conflict management skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate.
- Knowledge in relevant IT applications.
- Monitoring and evaluation skills.
- Strong analytical and Report writing skills.
- Demonstrates emotional intelligence.
