- Serve as an administrator to the Engineering Department: Coordinate multiple departmental programs and activities including scheduling meetings, recruitments, events and securing an ensuring availability of logistics for seamless execution amid competing demands.
- Manage administrative tasks including documentation, procurement, budgeting support, and record-keeping with meticulous attention to detail.
- Serve as the first point of contact for faculty, staff, students, and external partners, leveraging strong people skills to resolve issues efficiently.
- Support program delivery through critical problem-solving, rapid learning of new tools/systems, and proactive multitasking.
- Track deadlines, prioritize tasks, and generate reports to keep operations running smoothly in our high-energy environment.
- Assist with management and support of Engineering department equipment
- Coordinate all student capstone projects and seminars: applied projects, and thesis.
- Ensure the timely submission of capstone projects to supervisors, document reviews and manage final printing and submission of documents to the department and the Ashesi library.
- Coordinate all relevant correspondence between the department and internal and external stakeholders and regulatory bodies and agencies such as the GTEC.
- Support document collation and preparation towards reaccreditation cycles.
- Provide administrative support for faculty research in the department.
- Provide assistance to course instructors with the teaching of assigned courses to students.
- Meet with students individually and/or in small groups to ensure graduation requirement compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. Candidates with equivalent experience may be considered.
- At least 2 years of administrative experience, ideally in academia or engineering contexts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and basic project management tools; experience with university systems a plus.
- Proven organizational abilities, with excellent time‑management skills, strong multitasking capability, and a high level of attention to detail in a fast‑paced environment.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a people-oriented approach.
- Strong critical thinking and ability to learn new processes or software quickly.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
