- To provide technical and operational support in research for the achievement of mandate of the organization
- Provide inputs for the formulation of policies for the organization
- Supervise the analysis of data on research
- Supervise the preparation of draft research reports
- Supervise the dissemination of research reports
- Supervise the collation of data for the preparation of guidelines, procedures and processes in the implementation of programmes and activities of the unit
- Supervises the collation of data for the development of performance indicators for monitoring
- Supervises the analysis of data on monitoring
- Supervises the collation of data for the preparation of strategic, medium term and annual plans of the organization
- Supervises the evaluation of the analysis results
- Supervises the preparation of draft monitoring and evaluation reports
- Supervises the collation of data for the preparation of guidelines, procedures and processes in the implementation of programmes and activities of the unit
- Ensure the effective and efficient maintenance of comprehensive database on the programmes and activities of the unit
- Supervises the preparation of the annual work plans of the unit
- Collates data for the preparation of the budget of the unit
- Supervises the collation of data for the preparation of annual and other periodic reports of the unit
- Supervises and appraise the performance of subordinate staff of the unit
- Collaborate data for the preparation of the annual work plans for the unit
- Supervises the preparation of the budget of the unit

- Collaborate closely with officers, departments, local and international partners in the implementation of programmes and activities of the unit
- A minimum of a Master's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Science or any related field from an accredited tertiary institution
- A minimum of 6 years post-qualification relevant work experience in a reputable institution, 2 years of which must be in a management position
- Must pass a competitive selection interview
- Very good leadership, networking, monitoring and management skills
- Very good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Very good quantitative, qualitative and analytical skills
- Good capacity to inspire and motivate
- Very good knowledge of the education sector and related industries
- Very good knowledge and experience in research and statistics
- Good knowledge of Public financial management laws and regulations
- Knowledge in relevant IT applications
- Certificates from bachelor's degree upwards
