
Senior HSE Trainer by Newmont Mining Corporation

- To produce, coordinate, deliver and follow up training in all Health and Safety (HSE) applications for all Newmont staff throughout Ghana.
- To certify that all Newmont Ghana personnel are equipped with the skills and knowledge to carry out their duties effectively regarding health and safety.
- Conduct post-training evaluations and trainee evaluations, by developing reports to forward to the superintendent for review and approval prior to sending to clients.
- Input Enterprise Learning Solution (LSO) data into SAP.
- Pull reports and transcripts required from SAP.
- File all training results and attendance sheets securely.
- Consult internally regarding provision of safety advice and safety alignment.
- Manage sectional activities of the plant.
- Develop standard operating procedures and revise as needed.
- Conduct investigations into events, in conjunction with accidental investigation teams, distil learnings and include in training.
- Support in the onboarding and new hire screening process.
- Develop test items and conduct pre-screening of candidates.
- Consult with clients to identify training needs.
- Conduct extensive research, both new and existing.
- Review existing programs' content and adjust where necessary.
- Plan and develop training schedules.
- Develop training programs and training material to meet needs, including content, multimedia and assessments.
- Develop assessment components, comprised of theory and practical elements for technical trainings.
- Develop training guidelines for the junior trainers.
- Support apprentice training in conjunction with apprentices.
- Develop the training matrix by populating roles and examining competencies required; if any gaps are identified, place employees on further training programs.
- Conduct technical hazard specific training.
- Conduct training for owner representative and contractor representatives.
- Conduct Planned Task Observations (PTO) to monitor consistency with trainings.
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering or Sciences.
- Postgraduate in Health and Safety added advantage.
- City and Guilds accredited workplace certification.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) in Occupational Health and Safety.
- Minerals Commission (MINCOM) HSE Officer certification.
- Possess knowledge of competency-based curriculum.
- A minimum of four (4) to six (6) years' generalised experience and previous facilitation experience.
- A minimum two (2) to three (3) years' coordinating / supervisory experience.

- Proficiency in English and Twi language.
