Location: Accra, Ghana (regional remit)Take on a high-visibility finance leadership role at a pivotal moment. We’re supporting a globally recognised shipping and logistics group to appoint a Regional Finance Controller (CFO) to oversee finance operations across West and Central Africa , based in Accra .Following a successful transformation phase that stabilised structures and strengthened controls, the region is now ready for its next chapter. This role is less about firefighting and more about sustaining momentum — embedding robust systems, influencing at senior level, and acting as a critical bridge between the region and global headquarters.What You’ll Be DoingLead finance strategy and governance across all countries in West and Central Africa, ensuring alignment with global objectivesAct as the senior finance partner to regional leadership, providing insight, challenge, and decision supportMaintain and enhance financial controls, reporting, forecasting, and cash management across the regionOwn regional P&L oversight, performance management, and capital allocationDrive ongoing finance transformation, systems optimisation, and process standardisationManage complex stakeholder relationships, including the ability to constructively challenge where neededOversee and coordinate finance teams across multiple countries, including offshore and shared-service providersEnsure compliance with IFRS, local tax regulations, transfer pricing, and corporate governance standardsRepresent the region in high-level discussions with auditors, banks, and external partnersWho You AreExtensive senior finance leadership experience, ideally at Regional Finance Controller / CFO levelShipping line experience is essential , with best-in-class exposure to complex, international operationsStrong background in Africa; experience across West and/or Central Africa is highly desirableProfessional accounting qualification (CA or equivalent)Deep expertise in financial control, principal/agency accounting, tax, and transfer pricingProven ability to operate in matrix organisations and manage upwards with confidenceComfortable working in politically complex environments with high visibility and scrutinyStrong communicator, able to engage effectively with offshore finance teams and global stakeholdersStrategic mindset with the discipline to ensure execution and controlWhy Join?Step into a strategically critical role with strong foundations already in placeHigh visibility with global leadership and meaningful influence on regional directionLead finance across a diverse, high-growth region with significant scale and complexityJoin a globally respected organisation with long-term commitment to AfricaFocus on shaping the future rather than fixing the pastTake the Next Step in Your CareerIf you’re ready to take on a Regional Finance Controller (CFO) role with real influence across West and Central Africa, we want to hear from you.Please apply now to start a confidential conversation with our executive search team.
