We are hiring a Project Manager to lead the delivery of a major airport runway construction project in Ghana.
You will oversee all phases of the project, from planning and mobilization through execution and handover. The role is fully site-based and requires strong hands-on infrastructure experience.
You will work with international stakeholders, local authorities, contractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure the runway is delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
This is a high-impact infrastructure role within a government-supported aviation development program.Key ResponsibilitiesLead full project delivery for airport runway construction and related airside infrastructureManage civil works including earthworks, subbase, asphalt/concrete paving, drainage, and utilitiesSupervise contractors, consultants, and supplier performance on siteDevelop and control detailed project schedules and budgetsEnsure compliance with aviation safety regulations and technical standardsOversee quality control procedures, site inspections, and progress reportingManage contracts, variations, claims, risk registers, and change ordersLiaise with airport authorities, regulators, and project stakeholdersEnsure safe site operations and environmental complianceRequirementsDegree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldProven experience managing large airport runway or airfield construction projects as Project Manager or Site CoordinatorStrong background in heavy civil infrastructure (highways, runways, large-scale earthworks)Hands-on experience with paving works, asphalt or concrete, drainage, and subbase layersSolid understanding of aviation regulations and runway construction standardsExperience leading multinational site teamsStrong contract administration and cost control skillsProficiency in project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, or similar)Willingness to relocate and be based on site in Ghana for the duration of the projectMaximum age: 58 years (local insurance requirement)Compensation & BenefitsMonthly fixed salary (negotiable based on experience)Performance-based KPI / project bonusFully covered accommodation (high-standard apartment)Driver, food, laundry, and all living costs coveredTravel costs coveredRotation: 2 weeks leave every 3 months21-25 days annual leaveMedical insurance providedWhy ApplyLead a major airport infrastructure projectWork alongside experienced international engineers on long-term government-backed projectsJoin a serious employer with a strong track record in infrastructure deliveryGhana is considered one of the safest countries in Africa
