- The Sustainable Cocoa Initiative Support Programme (SCISP) is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) from December 2021 until October 2025.
- The main implementing partner is the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD).
- The primary goal of this programme is to ensure that the Ghanaian cocoa supply chain is compliant with the European Union Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR) by December 2025.
- The programme has over the past three years supported in developing the Ghana Cocoa Traceability System (GCTS), Cocoa-Sector Child Labor Monitoring System (CS-CLMS) and ensuring that
- The technical advisor will make technical and substantive contributions to overarching issues in cooperation with commissioning parties/clients, partners, and other actors and thereby support the achievement of the agreed objectives of the respective project.
- He/she will focus on one of the project's thematic areas; Child labour/Gender mainstreamimg and will take technical responsibility for the results-based planning, implementation and monitoring of specific activities for the development of the CS-CLMS and any other emerging tasks
- Coordinate and assist in preparing and conducting project activities and carries out other activities required for implementing these components.
- Assist national and international advisers in carrying out their work in the cocoa supply chain on themes like child labour, gender equity, rules and regulations in the sector in relation to European rules and regulations, private sector cooperation, and certification bodies.
- Participate in formulating project action plans and helps synchronise the planning and budgeting system and counterparts.
- Ensure knowledge management, collects, processes and distributes relevant information, monitors communication and interaction between government institutions
- University degree in Agriculture/Social Science, or related discipline in the equivalent (BSc, BA or MSc, MPill MBA).
- Very good application of the English language, a knowledge of French and German is a plus.
- Good working knowledge of ITC technologies (related software, phone, fax, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
- Strong managerial and organizational competence.
- Experience in monitoring and evaluation is a must.
- Experience in an international organization is required.
- At least 5 years' professional experience in a comparable position.
- Good understanding and work experience in the labour regime including child labour monitoring and remediation
