As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Coordinator, Law Enforcement Interventions to establish community level relationships in project areas; provide technical and logistical support to law enforcement officers in identification of cases and throughout the case life cycle; assist in developing and implementing training modules for law enforcement officers; help facilitate multi-disciplinary coordination between police, Department of Social Welfare, and State Attorneys. This position requires frequent travel to other regions in Ghana.This position is based in Tamale, Ghana and reports to the Snr. Manager, Tamale Projects.[ad]Responsibilities
  • Network and build partnerships with key government officials, in line with the Organisation’s strategic objectives;
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of the modus operandi of human trafficking in the project area;
  • Build a thorough working knowledge of relevant laws and criminal procedures regarding human trafficking and related case types;
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information regarding potential cases, and other sensitive information;
  • Write and submit detailed and timely reports;
  • Complete finance training, create and process requisitions, expense reports and other finance related processes and submit in a timely manner;
  • Input field data, training events and meetings into IJM’s Internal Systems – JDS;
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of operative recruitment, development and management;
  • Assist appropriate authorities in the documentation, gathering and preservation of evidence;
  • Provide technical consultation and assistance to government authorities working on human trafficking and related cases;
  • Support with the development of training curriculum and relevant materials to meet identified training needs;
  • Assist in the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of strategies and best practices for effective collaboration with government partners;
  • Ensure compliance with all IJM government and donor requirements; and
  • Participate in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred;
  • At least two to three years’ experience in conducting criminal investigations or law enforcement or related experience preferred;
  • Experience with various government social service programs and NGOs working in Ghana is preferred;
  • Ability to speak and write English;
  • Fluency in Twi, Ewe, Dangme, Fante is advantageous;
  • Ability to convey information concisely and accurately;
  • Excellent presentation skills;
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office applications preferred; and
  • Licensed and able to drive a four-wheeled motor vehicle.
