IT Business AnalystSubsidiary: Genser Energy Ghana Limited (GEGL)Division / Department: IT & MIS, Organizational DevelopmentLocation: Takoradi Ghana (West Africa)Designation Level: Sectional HeadReports Directly to: Senior MIS AssociateOBJECTIVE: The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting the Managed Information Systems function by analyzing business processes, gathering requirements, and delivering data-driven and technology-enabled solutions. The role plays a key part in improving operational efficiency through reporting, automation, and low-code application development, with a strong focus on the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerApps, Power Automate, Power BI). In addition, the role carries a product management support dimension - coordinating system enhancements, contributing to platform roadmap prioritization, and acting as the bridge between business users and development teams to ensure internal systems evolve in line with operational needs.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Business AnalystBusiness Analysis & Requirements Gathering
  • Engage with business stakeholders to understand operational processes, challenges, and requirements
  • Document business requirements, workflows, and functional specifications
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions in collaboration with IT/MIS teams
  • Support process improvement initiatives across departments
Digital Solutions & Automation Support
  • Design and develop low-code applications and workflows using Microsoft PowerApps
  • Build and maintain automated workflows using Power Automate
  • Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI
  • Support the integration of Power Platform solutions with SharePoint, Excel, and other enterprise systems
  • Maintain and enhance existing Power Platform solutions
Data & Reporting
  • Support development and maintenance of MIS reports and dashboards
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems
  • Assist in data collection, validation, and analysis to support decision-making
  • Work with teams to define KPIs and reporting requirements
System and Process Improvement
  • Support development and maintenance of MIS reports and dashboards
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across systems
  • Assist in data collection, validation, and analysis to support decision-making
  • Work with teams to define KPIs and reporting requirements
Stakeholder Support
  • Support development and maintenance of MIS reports and dashboards

Product Management Support & System Enhancement
  • Support the product management function by coordinating system enhancement requests from business users across all SBUs
  • Contribute to internal platform roadmap prioritization gathering, documenting, and presenting business cases for new features and improvements
  • Coordinate release cycles, including UAT planning, user communication, and post-release support
  • Monitor system performance and user adoption, identifying gaps and feeding insights back into the roadmap
BUDGETING
  • Support with the preparation of the monthly budget.
  • Contribute to the management of all budget items, including cost control and expenditure forecasting.
  • Contribute to ensuring that the budget is in line with the department’s scheduled activities.
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
  • Supervise the team to execute assigned projects within deadlines and budget.
  • Carry out performance appraisals and development plans with subordinate staff.
  • Coordinate the leave schedule of subordinate staff.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in information systems, Business, Data Analytics or a related field.
  • Master's degree in related field is a plus.
  • Multicultural experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in French is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
  • 4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Proficiency with industry-specific software (SAP, Sage, BambooHR).
  • Experience working in a corporate or operational environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft PowerApps and Power BI
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (advanced level preferred)
  • Experience with SharePoint and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem
  • Basic understanding of data structures and databases
