Job Vacancy For Senior Agronomist

• Extensive knowledge of general agriculture, the local cocoa industry, seed production and marketing
• Good sales skills
• Excellent planning and general management skills required
• Excellent communication skills - verbal and written
• Proficient computer skills - MS Office, email, spreadsheets, etc
• Good presentation skills
• Proven ability to work independently
• Valid Driver's License

• Engaging effectively with all relevant agencies involved in agro-inputs and seed certification and licensing to ensure that new products are promptly licensed and/or certified
• Preparing and implement a comprehensive sales and marketing plan critical for products distribution
• Conducting product demonstrations
• Cultivating effective business relationships with various farmers, farmers unions/associations to promote good agricultural practices and increase sales with emphasis on cocoa and seeds
• Maintaining a direct interface with CRIG, SARI, CSIR and other agriculture stakeholders to keep updated on new technology and pest problems
• Being responsible for timely completion of field studies for new product development
• Being responsible for follow up of field trials, monitor those trials throughout the season, analyse and report on the results of those trials
• Being responsible for safety in handling and storage of Agro-input and seeds

• MSc in Agronomy, Agriculture, Soil Science or related field
• Minimum of 8 years of agronomy work experience
• A minimum of 5 years experience in an agricultural sales role
• Demonstrated responsibility of sales role in Agro input
• In-depth knowledge of soil and crop principles
• Knowledge of/ability to use laboratory testing equipment (for chemical, physical and biological tests)
