A strong sense of ethics and care for student well-being is essential to succeed in this role.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist faculty in preparing and delivering tutorials, and out of class practical accounting sessions.
  • Support students in understanding key accounting concepts such as financial reporting, cost accounting, audit, taxation, and accounting information systems.
  • Grade assignments, quizzes, exams, and projects promptly and fairly under faculty guidance.
  • Facilitate tutorial sessions, review classes, and small group discussions.
  • Help organize departmental activities such as guest lectures, workshops, accounting simulations, and field visits.
  • Support the development of instructional materials, problem sets, spreadsheets, and case studies.
  • Maintain academic records and monitor student progress and engagement.
  • Hold office hours to provide academic assistance and mentoring to students.
  • Assist in faculty-led research and data gathering related to accounting and finance.
  • Manage LMS platforms (e.g., uploading materials, tracking submissions) and troubleshoot classroom technology when necessary.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a closely related field. A professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, ICA, CPA) or Master’s degree is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of financial and managerial accounting, IFRS, taxation, auditing, and accounting software/tools.
  • Familiarity with accounting packages (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Sage, or SAP), spreadsheet tools (e.g., MS Excel), and data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Prior experience in teaching, tutoring, or academic support is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, show initiative, and collaborate effectively in a team environment.
