- Develop, implement, and continuously improve safety management systems and operational procedures in compliance with national regulations and company policies.
- Lead safety training programs to enhance employee awareness, emergency preparedness, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to proactively identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
- Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure compliance with Ghanaian occupational health and safety laws, as well as international HSE standards.
- Manage the procurement, inspection, and maintenance of safety equipment to ensure full functionality and compliance.
- Provide regular safety performance reports to senior management, analyzing trends and recommending improvements.
- Collaborate with department heads and leadership to integrate safety measures into daily operations and strategic planning.
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory authorities, ensuring timely documentation, reporting, and compliance with all safety-related requirements.
- Foster a safety-first culture, encouraging proactive employee engagement in workplace safety initiatives.
- Master's/Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent safety certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of safety management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong understanding of risk management, hazard identification, and accident prevention strategies.
- Proven experience in safety audits, compliance reporting, and regulatory liaison.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and influence employees at all levels to adhere to safety protocols.
