Job DescriptionJOB DESCRIPTION
  • Strengthening existing client relationships and growing our existing product offerings to them as key priorities to meet client needs.
  • Assisting in developing and marketing of new Global Market Products of the Bank with the objective of improving profitability.
  • To conduct presentations to existing and potential customers in order to increase awareness of the Global Market Products and to build relationships.
  • To market products to customers.
  • To build and maintain a high level of synergies with product partners (relationship managers, branch managers)
  • To assist drive all other Treasury Sales activities towards attainment of financial targets.
  • To enhance the fixed income sales strategy and to execute the fixed income sales process.
  • Ensuring compliance with departmental policies/procedures
  • Develop a strategy for the Bank to increases wallet share of FI & Institutional/Corporate clients.
  • Assist with any other duties as may from time to time be assigned by the Head-Sales.
Primary ResponsibilitiesKEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • To set up a clear and coherent marketing plan for FI activities.
  • To set up an aggressive calling plan across existing & potential clients.
  • Pricing and quoting available instruments for profitable selling to clients and to ensure that the bank is positioned as a market maker in these instruments.
  • Spearheading the launching of new customized flexible products and solutions in more structured products.
  • Expanding our current product offerings beyond spot FI transactions to include derivatives to meet existing & new clients' needs.
  • Engage clients to keep them informed on market information.
  • Work with the Management and Risk teams to ensure that any expansion aligns with our risk appetite and broader strategic goals .
  • To work with the Trading team to ensure broad range of products to clients.
  • Provide inputs to the preparation of Sales unit budget.
  • To monitor business performance on an ongoing basis vis-å-vis budget and take proactive measures to achieve it.
  • To ensure that necessary steps are taken to address regulatory and internal control guidelines.
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
  • Meet Fixed income Sales budget.
  • Assist in meeting the FX Sales budget.
COMPLIANCE TO BANK'S AND LOCAL REGULATIONS
  • To ensure complete adherence to all ECOBANK's compliance and regulatory requirements. To maintain high standards in terms of compliance and internal process ensuring complete adequacy to Audit requirements.
  • To maintain good relationship with regulators.
  • To keep abreast of the changes in the business and regulatory environment.
  • To ensure adherence to proper conduct and professional behaviour.

Personal Attributes Required
  • In depth knowledge of the FI products.
  • Should be fully conversant with all operational aspects of the Treasury department.
  • Ability to work in as a team player.
  • Good analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to take quick decisions, ability of being reactive.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
  • Mathematics and computer skills are required.

COMPLEXITY AND JUDGEMENT
  • Should be able to react quickly to any opportunity and take immediate steps to convert it into deals.
  • Should be able to advise the Head -Sales on an ongoing basis about market conditions and trends so that appropriate strategies are put in place.
  • Freedom of decision making. Should be able to fully operate within trading and counterparty limits put in place.
  • Should be able to adjust trading margins quoted with the objective of securing the overall business.

QUALIFICATION
  • Education MBA, Accounting or Finance Option
