- Collect, label, and prepare patient specimens (blood, urine, stool, etc.) for analysis.
- Ensure proper storage and transportation of specimens.
- Conduct routine tests in areas such as hematology, chemistry, microbiology, serology, and urinalysis.
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment, such as analyzers, microscopes, and centrifuges.
- Record and analyze test results accurately.
- Maintain accurate logs, test results, and patient records using laboratory information systems (LIS).
- Report abnormal or critical findings promptly to the relevant healthcare providers.
- Adhere to quality control protocols and participate in internal and external quality assessments.
- Follow proper procedures for specimen disposal, chemical handling, and infection control.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of lab instruments.
- Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate as needed.
- Degree/Masters in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
- Certification from a recognized body (e.g., ASCP, AMT, or local licensing authority) preferred.
- 1–2 years of experience in a clinical or diagnostic lab is an advantage (new graduates may apply).
- Familiarity with laboratory safety procedures and quality assurance protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time-management abilities
- Good computer skills and knowledge of laboratory information systems (LIS)
