Job Vacancy For Senior Specialist – Operational Technology and Network

• Lead the design, build, and delivery of the mine's operational technology (OT) and network infrastructure.
• You'll take ownership of surface and underground wired and wireless networks, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient process control systems that keep the operation running at full capacity. You'll guide the OT team, integrate systems into the central control room, and drive performance across the life of mine.
• This role reports to the Engineering Manager - Operational Technology & CIC and plays a critical part in achieving production, safety, and efficiency targets.

• Lead with a zero-harm mindset and embed safety across all OT activities.
• Develop and implement the Control Systems Safety Management Plan.
• Ensure full compliance with legislation, AGAG standards, and site requirements.

• Design, configure, and commission OT network infrastructure across surface and underground operations.
• Manage switches, access points, wireless controllers, and industrial network devices.
• Perform FAT and SAT for all OT equipment.
• Integrate control systems into central control room operations.
• Maintain network integrity, cybersecurity, and system reliability.

• Provide clear direction and technical guidance to engineers and supervisors.
• Build capability within the OT team through training and succession planning.
• Define roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

• Develop and implement an OT asset management strategy aligned to life-of-mine plans.
• Leverage SAP to support maintenance planning, reliability, and decision-making.
• Work closely with procurement to manage spares and inventory.

• Deliver accurate weekly, monthly, and quarterly performance reports.
• Monitor KPIs across safety, cost, schedule, and quality.
• Identify and implement improvements that reduce risk, cost, and downtime.
• Manage change effectively to avoid impact on production or schedule.

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Certificate of Competency from the Mineral Commission of Ghana.
• Professional engineering certification (advantageous).

• 3-5 years' experience in OT systems administration and network infrastructure within mining operations.
• Proven experience installing and commissioning OT and computer hardware infrastructure in mining or processing environments.
• Hands-on experience with industrial Ethernet networks and ICS protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/IP, Profibus).
• Demonstrated experience with Cisco network configuration and deployment.
• Strong exposure to IT/OT fundamentals including virtual servers, databases, Active Directory, and cybersecurity.

• Deep understanding of underground mining OT and process control systems.
• Strong project management and quality assurance capability.
• Commercial and regulatory awareness within mining environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise, solve complex problems, and perform under pressure.
• Strong leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
