- The global project “Sustainable Economic Transformation and Sustainable Finance” ('the global project') aims to advance the transformation towards a more sustainable economy and financial sector.
- In the field of sustainable finance, the project supports partners in building credible policy and regulatory frameworks grounded in international standards that ensure sustainability factors are considered in day-to-day decision making in the financial sector.
- This project is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-funded by the European Union (EU) under the EU Sustainable Finance Advisory Hub.
- The Private Sector and Innovation Promotion in Ghana (PSInno) is part of the BMZ's core theme “Training and Sustainable
- Growth for Decent Jobs in Ghana”. Its objective is to strengthen competitiveness of SME and promote employment in selected sectors
- The Financial Advisor will be part of the project The global project “Sustainable Economic Transformation and Sustainable Finance” ('the global project') and “Private Sector and Innovation Promotion (PSInno)” in Ghana with focus on supporting fleet management, event management, inventory and other administrative tasks.
- Client relationship management with key financial sector stakeholders, including the Ministry of Finance (MoF), the Bank of Ghana (BoG), and the National Banking College (NBC).
- Facilitate access to financial services for SMEs and farmers, through financial advisory support and matchmaking with financial institutions.
- Proactively engage with partner institutions in Ghana (MoF, BoG, NBC etc.) as main contact person, represent the project in meetings and conferences, moderate discussions
- Provide technical advisory on sustainable finance policy, with a focus on the Ghana Green Finance Taxonomy and on central bank instruments for sustainable finance.
- Oversee the implementation of an access-to-finance facilitation programme, including the steering of consultants providing
- University degree in economics, finance or comparable or similar area
- At least 7 years of professional experience in a comparable position
- At least 5 years professional experience in project management
- At least 5 years working in the financial sector or in the field of financial sector development, with a strong focus on facilitating access to finance for businesses (e.g. investment readiness, deal structuring, matchmaking)
- Strong understanding of business finance, including project appraisal, financial analysis, and the structuring and use of financial instruments (e.g. loans).
- Solid knowledge of sustainable finance policies, key stakeholders and good practice
