- Perform all work in full compliance with applicable regulations of Government of Ghana agencies, relevant environmental, health, and safety legislation, and AGBL policies and procedures.
- Assume personal accountability for own health and safety, as well as the health and safety of all personnel affected by assigned work activities.
- Actively participate in maintenance review programs and Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) processes for processing plant electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Ensure strict adherence to the site Environmental Management Plan in all work activities.
- Liaise with contractors to manage and coordinate electrical refurbishment and planned maintenance works in accordance with approved work plans, schedules and performance expectations.
- Supervise the execution of electrical installation, refurbishment, and maintenance activities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements, AGBL standards and engineering best practices.
- Support the Electrical Processing Plant Unit Manager in developing and implementing condition monitoring routes and inspection checks for electrical plant equipment.
- Ensure the effective maintenance and reliability of fixed plant electrical assets within the processing plant, including crushers, conveyor systems, pumps, Ball and SAG mills, vibrating screens and feeders, cranes and hoists, cyclones and tanks.
- Assist the Unit Manager – Electrical in implementing automation initiatives and improvement projects aimed at enhancing plant efficiency and reliability.
- Support shutdown planning, coordination, and execution activities to ensure timely and safe completion of maintenance work.
- Monitor the general physical condition of plant assets and report defects or emerging risks promptly.
- Fully utilize AGBL's work management and maintenance systems to plan, record, track and execute all assigned work activities.
- Identify, communicate, and support the implementation of cost‑reduction and efficiency‑improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely execution of assigned work, including coordination and supervision of refurbishment and fabrication contractors, and proactively escalate actual or potential delays.
- Assist the Unit Manager Electrical with the preparation of the annual departmental budget and support effective budget management and cost control throughout the year.
- Perform any additional duties as may be assigned from time to time in line with business requirements.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or an equivalent qualification, from a recognized tertiary institution.
- A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience as an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, preferably within a metallurgical or mineral processing plant environment.
- Holder of a valid Inspecting Engineer's Certificate of Competency issued by the Minerals Commission of Ghana.
- Demonstrated expertise in electrical maintenance within a mining and/or extractive metallurgy environment.
- Advanced technical knowledge of electrical motor starters, including Direct‑On‑Line (DOL), Variable Speed Drives (VSDs), Soft Starters, and Liquid Resistance Starters.
- Proven competence in the maintenance and project management of processing plant infrastructure, with particular emphasis on refurbishment and upgrade projects.
- Working knowledge of standardized work and asset management systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (word, excel, power point and outlook)
