Senior Internal Audit Assistant at Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT)

• Support the full internal audit process by assisting in defining audit scopes, drafting audit programs, internal audit plan, internal audit budget, and carrying out fieldwork procedures under supervision
• Perform both pre-and post-audit assignments
• Obtain, analyse and evaluate accounting records, operational data flowcharts and control matrices to assess compliance and effectiveness
• Document audit findings, summarize key issues and help prepare audit reports including recommended actions
• Assist in follow-up audits to verify management’s remediation of issues identified in prior reviews
• Engage in basic risk assessments and maintain support documentation within audit tracking systems
• Liaise proactively with process owners and audit stakeholders to clarify procedures and progress audit activities
• Contribute to the internal audit team’s broader goals, including quality metrics (e.g. report timeliness, feedback)
• Stay current with governance, risk, control and regulatory developments to continuously enhance audit quality and efficiency

• Senior Auditing Assistant with not less than 3 years experience
• Must possess a first degree from a recognized University in a relevant subject area
• Should not be below 35 years of age and not above 55 years at time of appointment
• Must possess an in-depth knowledge in Accounting and Auditing practice
• Must also be proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other analytical tools
• Must have good communication skills
• Master’s degree in the relevant field is an added advantage
• Must value ethics, confidentiality, professional standards and integrity
• Members with Ghana Education Service/TVET who possess the above experience and qualifications should in addition be on the rank of Assistant Director I or its equivalent
• In-Service staff of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT) (Teaching or Non-Teaching) who possess the above qualification and experience within the organization in addition to the above qualification to apply
