- Provide operational coordination and administrative services to support procurement projects and activities, adhering to standard processes and ensuring the effective procurement of goods and services.
- Identify and recommend potential suppliers, compiling data and documents to support the selection process, ensuring adherence to standard procurement procedures. Review, record, and prioritize purchasing requests, offering support to requisitioners to procure appropriate goods and services at the best value for money to UNHRD.
- Contribute to negotiations with new suppliers on terms and conditions of orders, alongside a senior officer, to secure the best terms and best value for money for UNHRD.
- Prepare Purchase Orders, contracts, and any supporting documentation for approval by the relevant stakeholder and approve purchases within delegated authority to facilitate swift procurement.
- Resolve potential issues related to delivered goods by liaising with all parties and following standard procedures to ensure timely and accurate resolution of problems.
- Research, collect, and analyze data to produce reports that enable informed decision-making by Procurement Officers, ensuring consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
- Manage updates and further develop databases and records to ensure information is accurate, organized, and accessible, supporting reporting requirements.
- Maintain relationships with internal counterparts to align procurement activities with wider programs, ensuring a coherent approach to meeting partners needs. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to support partners in quickly responding and deploying relief items and needed resources to affected areas at the onset of crises.
- Completion of secondary school education. Additional training in procurement, supply chain management, or related field is desirable.
- At least 5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or related areas. Experience in an international organization is an asset.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy work delivery for informed decision making. Fluency in English and in local language.
- Knowledge of another UN language is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work collaboratively with various teams and stakeholders.
