This role is responsible for ensuring land access processes are managed ethically, compliantly, and in a manner that minimizes social, legal, and operational riskROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
Develop and implement land access strategies to support exploration, mining, and infrastructure requirements
Lead negotiations and consultations for land access, compensation, leasing, and surface rights agreements
Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, communities, traditional authorities, and government stakeholders
Manage land-related risks, disputes, and grievances in a timely and culturally appropriate manner
Ensure compliance with land, mining, and environmental legislation, as well as company standards
Oversee compensation assessments, payments, agreement records, and land access documentation
Work closely with Legal, Community Relations, Environmental, and Operations teams to align land access with project timelines
Lead, coach, and develop direct reports while promoting a high-performance culture
ROLE REQUIREMENTSEducation & Qualification
Degree in Land Economy, Social Sciences, Humanities, or a related discipline
Valid driver's license
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Minimum 10 years' experience in land access, land acquisition, community relations, or similar roles within the mining, energy, or infrastructure sectors
Strong knowledge of land tenure systems, customary land rights, and relevant land and mining legislation
Proven experience in negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and agreement management
Experience working with local communities and traditional authorities
Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills
Sound judgment, risk management, and compliance capability
High integrity, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity
Strong planning, documentation, and multi-priority management skills
Ability to work collaboratively across functions and influence outcomes effectively
